Welcome to the first issue of the Project 3 Newsletter from Cape Town's newest Apple Reseller. Most of you will recognise the name and logo, even if the new colour is a little different. We have entered into this new venture with every intention of providing the very best of service to Mac customers throughout Cape Town. Our new premises in Buitenkant Street are comfortable, elegant and spacious with coffee always on the go, so please feel free to pop in for a chat and a look around.

We are also extremely pleased to announce that we have strengthened our team considerably and are now joined from the UK by Derek Goldman, previously of MacLine Computers, and Margaret Silk from Softline. MacLine won the Apple Dealer of the Year award over there three years in a row and we are very proud to be able to bolster our high level of service at Project 3 with their skillsets. As you are aware Project 3 also won the Apple Dealer of the Year here in South Africa last year and we are working towards emulating that splendid hat trick. I would welcome any comments you may have regarding the content of this newsletter and ideas for topics you'd like covered in subsequent issues.

derekDEREK GOLDMAN
Originally from Joburg, Derek has spent the last 10 years in London where he set up MacLine, Britain's first Mail Order reseller of Apple Macintosh equipment and peripherals. Derek has specific technical skills in Internet and Intranet implementation and already has a number of completed Web Sites for Capetonians under his belt. His wide ranging knowledge of Macintosh products is further enhanced by the fact that he uses a lot of it on a day to day basis, so is able to talk from a users perspective rather than that of a sales person. You can contact Derek directly via his email address, derek@project 3.co.za

Margaret was until earlier this year, the managing director of UK based distributor Softline but the lure of Cape Town was too strong and she joins the ranks here at P3 to put her PR and Marketing skills to the test. Margaret's entry into the technology field stems from her studies as an Information Designer and Intermedia Data Translation consultant for a large government organisation but even then she was flying the Mac banner in a corporate world where no one got sacked for buying IBM. Her main area of interest is in the software arena and will be concentrating her efforts to ensure that Cape Town is kept well informed about the latest versions and hottest products.
