Project 3 - Workshop Schedules
To augment our free Saturday theatre presentations we are pleased to announce our new hands on workshops.

Every Thursday from 2:00pm to 4:30 pm we will be hosting workshops that give you hands-on training with our in-house experts, with topics ranging from the iLife Suite (iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, iTunes and GarageBand) to more in depth applications like Final Cut Express HD, as well as covering all aspects of Mac OS X.

Bring your own cameras, footage, whatever's appropriate and we'll provide the computers. Cost is R350 + VAT – space is limited to 6 places and your seat must be booked in advance, so book early to avoid disappointment.

If there are any topics we don't cover and you think we should, email us. We're here for your benefit... we look forward to seeing you.

Please note: Dates and topics are subject to change - please check back frequently

Afternoon Workshop Schedules - July 2010

Thursday 22nd - Keynote

2:00 pm - 4:30 pm

With the familiar interface of its iWork siblings, Keynote packs the tools to transform your creativity into reality.

Create compelling presentations which are rich with images, audio and video.

Use the builds and transitions to keep your audience spellbound and hanging on your every slide.

If you've never created a presentation before, the beautiful templates will inspire you. Extend your capabilities with your next presentation or interactive portfolio.

And sharing your presentation is easy - across formats and platforms. Join us and we'll help you turn your ideas into a masterpiece.

Thursday 29th - Logic Express

2:00 pm - 4:30 pm

When you hit the limits of Garageband, Logic Express is the next (ahem) logical step.

Logic Express adds an amazing collection of amps, speaker cabinets, and effects pedals that guitar players can use in traditional combinations to re-create legendary sounds or mix and match for something truly original.

It also features new production tools that make it easier than ever for musicians to set up and record, edit timing and tempo, and create pro mixes.

We love GarageBand so does Logic Express. It will open your old GarageBand projects seamlessly so you can start where you left off but now with a whole new set of tools to let you go that much further.

Modulate up to Logic Express.

Afternoon Workshop Schedules - August 2010

Wednesday 4th - Mac OS X for Beginners

6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

New to OS X? Can't quite get to grips with terms like Home folder, not quite sure why you need a password every time you try to install a new program on your Mac?

Come and de-mystify OS X and learn best practices to help you work smarter. Learn useful tips and tricks that will speed up the way you work with your Mac, and help you navigate around your hard disk with the minimum of fuss.

Thursday 5th - Numbers '09

2:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Based around the same template philosophy of Pages and Keynote, Numbers is now a spreadsheet for the rest of us. But it's more than that.

Elegant and powerful, Numbers enables you to quickly create rich spreadsheets without some of the klunky limitations of Excel, whose interface has shown little sign of changing over the years.

If you finally want to rid yourself of the last vestiges of any Microsoft applications from your Mac, or are tired of still running non-Universal applications on your Mac, now you can. PS - Numbers is more compatible with Excel 2007 than Microsoft Excel for Mac is!

Thursday 12th - GarageBand

2:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Garageband continues to mature. New built in lessons for piano and guitar, additional guitar rigs that add features like fuzz box, echo and auto funk and a new jam feature expand GarageBand's utility even further.

Auto create entire songs to solo with, change the instruments around to suit your arrangements, then go in and edit the song. Do multiple takes of a vocal or solo and choose the best one!

Then learn about loops and tracks, Audio Units and more. From recording live bands, or making a virtual band, Podcasting or even scoring your latest iMovie project to posting to .mac or burning a CD.

Wednesday 18th - Mac OS X for Beginners

6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

New to OS X? Can't quite get to grips with terms like Home folder, not quite sure why you need a password every time you try to install a new program on your Mac?

Come and de-mystify OS X and learn best practices to help you work smarter. Learn useful tips and tricks that will speed up the way you work with your Mac, and help you navigate around your hard disk with the minimum of fuss.

Thursday 19th - Photoshop Elements

2:00 pm - 4:30 pm

If you'd like to step up your editing beyond the capabilities of iPhoto then Photoshop Elements may be for you. It's packed with most of the punch of big brother Photoshop but without the knockout price tag.

We'll show you how to retouch your pics perfectly without even moving them out of iPhoto. Use the extensive options of Photomerge® to mix parts of the same shot, one with the flash and one without or simply delete a pedestrian who fouled up the shot.

Make the sky blue and your teeth white, photo editing made easy and powerful. We know how and you can too

Thursday 26th - Pages

2:00 pm - 4:30 pm

The power of a word processor, the grace of a page layout program and the ease of use of a program that only Apple could design.

Like the rest of its iLife siblings, Pages works on a template basis with over 140 beautifully designed templates.

Pages is a streamlined, yet powerful word-processing application you use to easily create great-looking documents, from a letter, flyer, or poster to a monthly newsletter or three-panel brochure. And when you're ready to share your Pages document, it can be exported to several different file types, including HTML, PDF, and Microsoft Word.
