Saturday Theatre - July 2010

Saturday 24th - Introduction to Logic Express

Session 1
9:30 am -
10:30 am

When you hit the limits of Garageband, Logic Express is the next (ahem) logical step.

Logic Express adds an amazing collection of amps, speaker cabinets, and effects pedals that guitar players can use in traditional combinations to re-create legendary sounds or mix and match for something truly original.

It also features new production tools that make it easier than ever for musicians to set up and record, edit timing and tempo, and create pro mixes.

We love GarageBand so does Logic Express. It will open your old GarageBand projects seamlessly so you can start where you left off but now with a whole new set of tools to let you go that much further.

Modulate up to Logic Express. This

Session 2

Saturday 31st - iWork '09 - Numbers

Session 1
9:30 am -
10:30 am

Based around the same template philosophy of Pages and Keynote, Numbers is now a spreadsheet for the rest of us. But it's more than that.

Elegant and powerful, Numbers enables you to quickly create rich spreadsheets without some of the klunky limitations of Excel, whose interface has shown little sign of changing over the years.

If you finally want to rid yourself of the last vestiges of any Microsoft applications from your Mac, or are tired of still running non-Universal applications on your Mac, now you can. PS - Numbers is more compatible with Excel 2007 than Microsoft Excel for Mac is!

Session 2
11:00 am -
12:00 pm

Saturday Theatre - August 2010

10:30 am

Everything you need to know about taking your Mac on holiday.

From battery saving tips to tethering your Mac to your cell phone so you can upload your adventures to your blog.

Getting your email using your mobile as a modem. Access your home computer while you're away

If you're away from home but need to carry on - you'll want to be here this Saturday.

Session 2
11:00 am -
12:00 pm

Saturday 14th - Photoshop Elements

Session 1
9:30 am -
10:30 am

If you'd like to step up your editing beyond the capabilities of iPhoto then Photoshop Elements may be for you. It's packed with most of the punch of big brother Photoshop but without the knockout price tag.

We'll show you how to retouch your pics perfectly without even moving them out of iPhoto. Use the extensive options of Photomerge® to mix parts of the same shot, one with the flash and one without or simply delete a pedestrian who fouled up the shot.

Make the sky blue and your teeth white, photo editing made easy and powerful.

We know how and you can too

Session 2 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Saturday 21st - Word Processing

Session 1
9:30 am -
10:30 am

Tabs, Sections, Styles, Headers, Footers.

If you don't know how to use these effectively you're adding hours to the time it takes you to create a document. And even more relevant - should you want to make changes to a long document, knowing how to use these tools saves you days - not hours.

Not specific to any one word processor, we'll be covering the tools that make the difference between a two finger pecker and a word whiz.

Session 2 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Saturday 28th - Google

Session 1
9:30 am -
10:30 am

From its humble beginnings as a search engine, Google has become and indispensible tool in the modern digital workers armoury.

Come learn how to hone your Google-fu when you search. Search for images that match a certain colour rather than by file name. Plan your trips with Google Maps. Share documents with colleagues and family using Google Docs.

Then there's Google's new collaboration tool, Google Wave, Google Reader, YouTube. Google News, Google Calendar.

The lista continua.

Session 2 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
